Cinder / 33AT45 split 10" (Many labels)
- The surprise of the month, especially Cinder pissed all over my low expectations.
This is a Spain vs. Portugal struggle but both bands come out on top without
sounding like the other. Cinder reminds me a lot of ETA, Life's Halt etc
+ they do a Teen Idles tune. Smashing!!! 33AT45 are a bit rawer but not
that much. A touch of Infest and Tear It Up mixed in w/Jerry's Kids and
SSD. Oh, SSD cover as well. Recommended!
Devoid Of Faith "Purpose Lost" 10" (Soviet State)
- By many considered to be the best DOF record ever. Originally released
on Bacteria Sour. Soviet State brings this beauty back in print with the
original artwork made by Pushead. As far as the music goes, this is mean,
dirty, filthy stinking nrutal fukking US hardcore. 'Nuff said.
Das Oath "Korperkultur" 9" (Coalition)
- Yes, this is the controversial Oath record that got banned by Ebullition.
Why? Because the artwork was considered too pornographic. Anyhow, this is
a cool fukking thrashing record. The Oath = the famous all-star project
yadda yadda yadda. Fast, distorted, pulverizing US/Dutch violence in store
for ya'll. Price: Same as 10"
Disgusting Lies "Don't ask just listen" (Agipunk/Angry)
- Very slick and well-prodcued crustcore from Poland. Aggressive to the
max w/over the top speed and brutality. Very nifty guitar
Dead For A Minute s/t (Abstract)
- Mega super distorted chaos from France. Falls somewhere in the bombed
wastelands of Refused, grindcore, power violence, metal, mayhem, destruction.
Check it out.
Endstand "Fire Inside" 10" (Combat Rock)
- One of Finland's most popular hardcore acts. Always on the road, always
spreading the hardcore gospel! Good and solid old-school w/certain melodic
hints. Think Outlast and 7 Seconds mixed w/Dag Nasty.
The Great Deceiver "Cave-In" 10" (Bridge)
- HHIG-stylee hardcore metal fronted by Tompa (At The Gates / Skitsystem).
Heavy dude... heavy. Distorted shit storm coming your way, take cover! This
is their first release, a few years old by now. These days they are signed
to Peaceville!
Gordon Solie Motherfuckers "Power Bomb Anthems vol. 1"

- Read the title and you understand what this is. Fukking killer 9 Shocks
Terror sideproject that only did this + a 7" (look out for re-issue
on Busted Heads sometime in the not so distant future). Eleven songs of
chaotic old-school thrash hardcore w/Tony (Face Value) on vocals. GET THIS
NOOOW!
M:Pati "Misantrquot; 10" (Flowerviolence)
- Latest release (and probably last since I think they have already broken
up) from this Swedish raw punk band. High speed classic styled Scandicore
w/some slow and heavy parts. Like Skitsystem, Diskonto, Victims, Krigshot
etc etc. Plenty of d-beat in store for all!
No Time Left s/t 10" (625)
- Another contender for the top 10 punk records of 2003. Superb old-school
hardcore w/bastard rock'n'roll tendencies. Fukking great.
Our War "If You're Not Now, You're Fucking Dead!" 10"
(Deranged)
- Watch out for these crazy Canadian fukks. Fast and militant sXe hardcore
w/a real heavy bottom to it. Reminds me a lot of hatefull stuff like Negative
Approach, Negative FX, Nations On Fire, Slapshot, Integrity etc etc. Wicked.
Oil "Electric tongue" 10" (Coalition)
- This Dutch combo strike back w/five new blasts of rock swagger and punk
sensibilities. They are not only veterans of the European hardcore scene,
but a band able to spar with the best pure rock and roll bands on the planet.
They have their own brand of DC-influenced hardcore mixed w/Drive Like Jehu,
Hot Snakes and Rye Coalition.
Puffball "Solid state (eight track)" 10" (dead Beat)
- Swedish underground rock monster, been going for years but nobody knows
them. Shame. Eight tracks of fast, dirty, Motörhead-driven garage punkrock.
Think Zeke, Dwarves etc. Incl. A ripping cover of Girlschool.
Smut Peddlers "Ten inch" 10" (Deat Beat)
- Ten year old mainstays in the So. Cal. punk scene. High-energy dope for
all you punk junkies out there into shit liek Stiches and US Bombs. Go beach

Seein Red / Shikari split10" (Deadlock)
-Some of the best SR tracks I have heard in a long time, probably their
most potent shit since the split w/Catweezle. Great, thrashing old-tyme
hardcorepunk w/political lyrics. Ace. Shikari, also from Holland, are more
violence and bloodshed, chaos and destruction, metal and 2xbass drums.
Social Infestation "Lasciate Ogni Speranza" 10" (Goatlord)
- This yankee crew spares no one. Fukking dark and deadly, heavy as hell
w/a crusty Neurosis + HHIG feel but w/speedy outbursts of grinding and speed.
17 songs of darkness, death and politics. Ace.
V/A "Bridging oceans" 10" (3rd Party)
- International straight edge comp! Feat. several songs each from On Alert
(USA), The Geeks (South Korea), Hold True (Hungary), Thinking Straight (Indonesia),
FPO (Macedonia), Bad Business (USA), Let's Grow (Serbia). A lot of cool
breakdowns and high jumping riffs on this baby.
Wolfbrigade "Wolfpack years" (Farewell)
- Limited edition 10" in really slick and cool looking gatefold cover.
This little bastard has a bunch of rare and hard to get tracks recorded
when the band was known as Wolfpack. Including a ripping Asta Kask cover!!!
If you don't know these fellas, they are the gods of traditional Swedish

- One of Poland's biggest hardcore bands. Swinging and thrashing hardcorefukking

- Boy, this is a fukking scorcher! One of the most amazing bands kicking
around these days. Dark and heavy and distorted and screaming and faaast!
Totally under appreciated band. Feat. members of W.H.N?. Pretty metallic
but who cares. This is their debut album, also on vinyl + CD. Tape has "Cold

- Latest album from one of the best bands in North America right now. Fukk,

thing is that they just keep on getting better. This tape has 11 tracks
of dark'n'heavy modern day crustcore. Think Motörhead + Amebix + Voivod

- One of the best grind bands to ever walk the face of the earth! This is
their farewell studio album. A must for everybody into grindcore! Supreme

- A really underrated US band. From Dallas, Tx, these punx combine cool
politics, melodies, heavy riffing and awesome female vocals in a smashing

- Our dear friends from Minneapolis! Feat. Felix Von Havoc (Havoc Rec's

dig this shit. ALL they did, a grand total of 50 songs! Fast and thrasy

- Legendary US band, still going strong after ten years of DIY noise. Awesome
crusty'n'thrashy'n'grinding hardfukkingcore. This has their album on Armageddon

Doppelganger "Rollerskate or die (Seriously)" (DKYM)
- New breed of US west coast thrashers who haven't forgotten how it sounded
in the later days of the 90's. Total Charles Bronson/Spazz/Hellnation etc

- Heavy and distorted debut demo from this young Umeå hardcore gang.

- If you wanna know what crusty hardcore is, check out USA's Disrupt. It
doesn't get any more crust than this baby... This is their classic album

- Florida hardcore in your face! FF existed between 1993 and '96, so here's

mandatory live songs. Also worth checking out is their split7" w/Sweden's

Rorschach "Autopsy" (Trujaca Fala)
- Seminal US band that was around between 1989 and 1993. Fast, heavy, metallic
and screaming hardcore, really ahead of it's time. This has their releases

Severed Head Of State "An Invitation…" MC (Trujaca Fala)
- Todd from Tragedy, Kelly from Defiance/Detestation, Jack from World Burns

the deal. The fact is that this band fukking shreds!!! Fast, dark, heavy,
killer vocals, good hooks, nihilistic/political lyrics... It's all winner
baby! This is a discography of the years 1998 to 2001. It has 12" on
